COVID-19 Safety Policies And Protocols
Sewing with Kay is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our students and their families. The following safety measures will be in place to reduce the risks associated with COVID-19 in accordance with the guidelines of the Ontario Government and Halton Regional Public Health:
-
Students and their families are required to wear a mask at all times as required by the Regional Municipality of Halton (Face Covering By-Law)
-
A temperature check will be required along with the completion of COVID screening questions. We ask that a parent is present for the screening process, otherwise students will not be permitted to enter.
-
Please ensure timely arrival for the scheduled class time as well as pickup.
-
Hand sanitizing stations will be available and must be used upon arrival and exit.
-
Students will be required to maintain physical distancing while waiting to enter or exit the studio and during classes.
-
Machines and work areas will be fully disinfected between classes. As such, each class start time will be staggered by 15 min. which will also reduce congestion when classes are coming and going.
-
A new HEPA air purifier will be used throughout the studio.
-
Attendance will be monitored and used to provide contact tracing.
-
Class sizes will be reduced to ensure adequate physical distancing.
-
Students will be required to come to lessons with their own sewing scissors and choice of pins or clips. Please be sure to sanitize these items before entering the studio.
-
Sadly, we will not be having tea and cookies for the time being.
-
Parents will not be permitted to stay in the studio during lessons. Please accompany your child for drop off and to complete the COVID screening questions. Students will not be allowed to enter or exit the studio without a parent or guardian present.
-
Although we have washroom facilities, we encourage your children to use the washroom at home before coming for lessons.
-
Please note that if a student shows any symptoms of COVID-19 while at the studio, their family will be notified and the student will be sent home immediately.
-
Staff will not report to work if, within the last 14 days, they have been unwell or have had contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19.
